Our Mission
Focusfire was born out of the desire to serve what we believe to be an under-served group - those executives and IT leaders who struggle to communicate with each other and find stress and worry about the unknowns of their interactions.
Our aim is to help solve the people element. We translate geek-to-exec and back again, assist in rebuilding trust, and give small to mid-size businesses a resource to look to when trying to determine the technological path forward.
Above all, we are humans trying to solve human problems. The best technology in the world often goes to waste because of misaligned goals, poor communication, trust issues, and improper fit. Technology is rarely the problem, nor the solution. It is a means to an end and in order to successfully serve it’s purpose, the people and process dynamic must fall solidly into place.
Philosophy
Simplicity
We're big fans of KISS, not the make-up wearing rock band (although they are pretty awesome), but the idea of keeping things simple. IT infrastructure should be transparent to users and the business. It should be as simple as possible and it should "just work." When technology and business is discussed the language should be clear and direct. Buzzwords and excessive formality get in the way of understanding.
Transparency
IT strategy needs to provide transparency, which ultimately leads to trust. Business leaders need to know that the magic boxes in the server room are helping their business and that the people they have in place to keep that equipment running understand the goals of the business. IT management needs to have a seat at the executive table so that they can provide the business with the right infrastructure.
